Hunkering Down for a Long Stay

It's been 3 days, and we're back with another update. A couple updates ago we showed a render of the Aerosian bunker. Today we're back with ingame shots of that bunker. The first screenshot shows an Aerosian outpost building up defenses to protect against an Ebres infantry assault. The second shows off the bunker, and its cameo done by the_hunter.
Also, on a side note, I've updated the Defcon installer. You no longer need a separate removal tool for the game to work properly after uninstalling Defcon. I also removed the accidentally released mod launcher, as it was untested.

3 Days Later

Another day, another render. This time, we've got the Aerosian SAM Site. This will be the Aerosian's dedicated air defense. One of the changes in Defcon 1.5 is the addition of new dedicated defenses for each side. There will be one focused on air defense, one on anti-vehicle/tank defense, and one on anti-infantry defense. Something that I have overlooked in past posts is the credit for these amazing models and skins. The_hunter has done a great job on these, including the latest model seen below.
Now, to explain a bit about how the SAM site works. On the right hand side you have the normal state. The left hand side is the firing state. When a unit is in range the SAM site will pop up, launch the missiles in all directions, then begin guiding them in the air. This allows for a very large volley of missiles, and there will always be a missile that is near the unit that is being targeted.
Check back in another 3 days to see more updates from Defcon. And while you're waiting, check out the other mods here at Slipstream Productions.

I said there'd be an update today, and I'm dragging myself away from BF 2 long enough to post it. Today we've got one of the new additions for Defcon 1.5. The helipad will provide the Aerosians with a way to build a transport helicopter, and that helicopter will allow infantry to zip line down on buildings and clear them. There will also be a clearing weapon for the Ebres at Defcon 5, and this will allow garrisonned units to go back to having an advantage over units just advancing on foot. In Defcon 1 this was changed to provide balance. The patch will flip that. Now that I've droned on, here's what you all want, the renders...

Defcon Relaunched

Welcome to the new home of Defcon. Here at Slipstream Productions we will be working to bring you the 1.5 patch for Defcon that has been long planned. After that, who knows what might happen with the Defcon franchise. We're looking forward to a long, bright future, and we hope you'll join us in the trip. For now, here's a first look at two new structures that will be appearing in the 1.5 patch. We noticed some balance issues between the defenses on each side. To remedy that we're putting in several new specialized defenses. The first is a new bunker for the Aerosian side. The bunker will allow several infantry to fire from a protected location. The bunker will be purchasable at Defcon 5.
The second new structure is an anti-tank turret for the Ebres side. These will be available at Defcon 4, to help defend against enemy vehicles.
Stay tuned, as we don't plan to just go quietly. The next two weeks will bring a barrage of updates. Check back for the next one on July 31st.
